- The most vehement event that currently plagues our world is the Civil War that has been hard-fought for close to five years in the Kingdom of Andoras, between the loyalist Kingdom, and the rebels consisting of the Lord Paramouncy of Thyllanor, and a democratic faction that refers to itself as the "Farrowhalt Freehold".
- The war began as a result of internal strife, and the political ideologies of the two men - a diplomat and a writer respectively, who lead this Freehold in its day-to-day affairs - Veddel Markwell, and Michael Avleston.
- The Dealing Council has convened this day, the 27th of December 330 AC, to discuss this drawn-out bloody war, and what can only become of it if it is allowed to continue.
- At best, estimates of success for the survival of the Farrowhalt Freehold are slim, and the Six-Day-Siege has completedly wiped out all of Thyllanor's auxiliary forces, leaving the war almost entirely in the Kingdom's favor.
- The main quarrel behind this victory, however, are the ones who are to win it. The king Aegor IV Dragomyr has been called, among other things, a tyrant, cruel, and deadly to the well-being of his country as a whole.
- The Dealing Council takes a neutral stance in the war, but both sides are to be heard and regarded in this matter as debate continues and we reach a universal consensus.
- Here to argue terms are the regents of Thyllanor, led by Tyralt Karthmere, and the brother of Veddel Markwell, Malric Markwell;
- A delegate from Dragonspire city on the opposing side, named Dytho Portem;
- And the men behind the Farrowhalt Freehold itself, the Proconsul Veddel Markwell, and the Consul Michael Avleston.
- As the primary belligerents of this war, the Farrowhalt Freehold will have its first say in this matter.
- The Freehold submits to the clause that the war should end, but holds steadfast that they have achieved victory in this conflict. Michael Avleston, Consul of the Farrowhalt Freehold, has requested sole grounds; permission granted by Overseer.
- "Many of you here in this room, despite what you have been told and what you may think you know, are not at all aware of the fight that we have been waging for nearly five years in the name of our freedom and just due." Pause. "But how can you? Here in Doras Edrossi, in Meyron, no less, you are given every right to do what we simply cannot get on the western continent. Andoras, my friends; fellow diplomats, geniuses, fighters for liberty, countrymen; to all who dwell in this room, listen here and now. This is a bloody pyrrhic victory for the Farrowhalt Freehold and the Lord Paramouncy of Thyllanor. The Deserters have been tested, and found apt and worthy; let this fight be done and give us our peace of which we are so deserving. Prevent the tyrannies of the King Dragomyr from affecting our realm, wherever it may remain, and to be detached from his affairs, lest the essence of freedom be lost in Andoras." Pause." Thank you, and may the Five be merciful." Cease.
- Concluding the delegation for the Farrowhalt Freehold, next to stake their claim is the Lord Paramouncy of Thyllanor.
- The Lord Paramouncy of Thyllanor, although allies in this war with the Farrowhalt Freehold, will willingly concede to the Kingdom of Andoras, and submits itself to their mercy and laws. Tyralt Karthmere, brother of the late Dalan Karthmere, has requested sole grounds. Permission granted by Overseer.
- "This concept of 'democracy' has resulted in the death of my brother, the destruction of our city, and the loss of our pride." Pause. "Through and through we have fought boldly, but in the end, it seems the might of the lions and their allies could not trump the fervor of the dragons -- quite literally, given the recent events in Faercrest. Hardly three weeks ago, I stood and watched as Faercrest burned. Hardly three weeks ago, I saw the ideals of democracy shrivel up in one brief, fiery moment. I saw a Cerynian man with a chip on his shoulder end my brother's life, with a smirk on his face as he did it." Pause. "I am just as appalled by this war as the rest of you are. I did not ask for this burden, of course; I am certain Malric here did not as well. We are mere men of diplomacy; not warmongers, democrats, nor soldiers or spymasters, and not peasants nor priests. We sit in the middle of this spectrum, one so notoriously subject to change from the two extremes, one louder than the other during war. In the three hundred and twenty-sixth year after the Conqueror first set foot on the Kingsland, the voices finally called a war against his family that has made no sene. Do you think the Starvation War began over a petty dispute, or differing political ideals? No. The wars that came before had meaning. Where is the life of our kingdom now, if two men can form a rebel government and hold out -- for five years? It fails me to mention that I have no bearing here; I have not planned a speech, I have not orchestrated a grand entrance; only the will of mortal men who have their own finite, expendable lives to lead. What are the Paragons supposed to think? Do you think Caridre finds this just? Do you think Volus smiles on the Freehold and ourselves?" Pause." Truly, Andoras, has lost its peaceful ideals, and if I am forced to take a side, then I shall take a stance of conscientious objectivity."
- This concludes the delegation for the Lord Paramouncy of Thyllanor. The offensive side has declared to comment further; Veddel Markwell, of the Farrowhalt Freehold, will now speak his own case.
- "Mere diplomats do not lightly speak without first attesting to the will of the duties that they uphold. Allow me, gentlemen of the Dealing, to tell you a small story, if you will. In the year 311, I graduated valedictorian of my class from the Academia Faercrest. Many touted me even then as one of the best diplomats of the modern era. Oh, how those men full of praise would eat their hearts if they knew how far I've come, and why I've done what I have with the talents that were bestowed upon me."
