The Pentarch of the Five Paragons is the primary leader of the Church of the Five. He is elected at the death of the previous Pentarch, and holds the title until his death, his abdication, or if the ruling Pentarchum feels the current Pentarch is unfit to rule or immoral. Pentarchs are not required to lose their current name, but it was almost universally done in the early days of the Church. As of now, it is typically done for traditional reasons. The current Pentarch is Iulious Saely, formerly Pentem of Tolliver, and then Archpentem of Ember's End. Iulious Saely was famous for -- before becoming Pentarch -- of being the overseer of Dalan Karthmere II's coronation. He has held the title of Pentarch since 344 AC.
