This battle was notable for being, among other things, the beginning of the final phase of the 346 AC rebellion. Although the Kingdom of Andoras successfully held its ground, they did not hold the city of Corcivaetas for long, and the main battle force on the defensive side led by Daemalor Celtheon was called to the north in a campaign against Thyllanor and the Moonlyt Peaks, while Taeronys and Aeganar Dragomárus returned to the capital city of Dragonspire a few weeks later, in a skirmish that left many of their remaining men dead, during the First Siege of Dragonspire. Most notably, Corcivaetas started its period of destruction at this battle, which would be further rectified a year later during the Destruction of Corcivaetas which resulted in the annihilation of the city and its population. It was at this battle, then, that many Rebel generals first earned their name. A young Adrian Karthmere directed the newly-founded Crimson Lions to the field and led the central flank when Dalan Karthmere left for Dragonspire City. Gothaen Synthor took over as commander of Adrian's forces in his stead when he accompanied his older brother, and proved to be more effective a commander than the young Karthmere. Albrod Calnus, then a lieutenant, was promoted to the rank of auxiliary general -- only under that of Dalan -- for his heroic defense against the final charge of the battle led by Aeganar Dragomárus himself. Borus Haren, leader of the Stone Knights, also played an integral role when he did everything he could in his power to hold the left flank, which had collapsed due to upheaval in the ranks. Because of his actions, far less men died than was necessary, most of whom were archers and footmen. Aiding him in this was his lord, Helman Stone, who led a cavalry charge opposite of Aeganar's own, striking while they were vulnerable and staying behind to ensure that the armies could reach Dragonspire for the First Siege. Dalan Karthmere proved himself to be the symbolic leader of the rebellion, giving a rousing speech before the battle which cited his position as "son of the last man who gave the kingdom what-for" as sufficient evidence to prove he deserved this victory more than anyone else.

Beginnings

A key part of the Battle of Corcivaetas was the intentional use of siege weaponry against the city in order to demoralize the loyalists; this would later pale in comparison to the outright Destruction of Corcivaetas.

The Pallid Day of Garanide in The Wetlands proved that the rebels had a chance of victory, especially against the subjects of the Crown, but that it would be very difficult to mount a sufficient offense against well-equipped and well-numbered troops. It was called the Pallid Day because of its status as a Pyrrhic victory for the Rebels, and many at this point had assumed that they had won the battle but lost the war. Not to be beaten, several men of power (including high lords in certain realms) went around the various realms, calling for the revival of the movement that would wipe out the Kingdom and its supposed tyranny once and for all. All methods were used, from bringing up the existence of Con-crownism, to hosting plays of a mocking nature. In Thyllanor, a certain play became popular because of its depiction of Aeganar IV Dragomárus as a deformed dwarf, whose hair was white because of his age and not his status as a Drakonian.

In this regard, it could be said that the war was fought just as much in people's minds as it was on battlefields. Whatever the method used, public opinion of the Kingdom and its rulers slowly dwindled, especially in places that were already apt to rebel tendencies or in the war against the Crown already, and a slow but steady increase of men ready to fight or desert the kingdom reached a new peak with every coming day. Propaganda played a large role as well, with pamphlets being distributed in places like Thyllanor or Thunder's Shore to encourage increased participation in war for all members of society, be they peasants, gentry, or nobles.
